Brisbane
We arrived from Australia Zoo late afternoon, parked the car. Narelle and I went to a Korean Karaoke/Internet bar to book a room while Eric and Alexia went to visit souvenir shops. We got a blind offer on Lastminute and got unbelivably cheap rooms at Royal on the park, a beautiful four-and-a-half star hotel. We drove our big gold Holden Statesman in the hotel's driveway in front of very well dressed people who must have been attending some kind of reception at the hotel, got out in our crappy t-shirts and sandals and gave the keys to the valet. That was fun. That night we went to Southbank.
We returned to Southbank in the morning for more pictures. I've been to Southbank for twelve years now, and don't get sick of it.
I've actually seen the Bougainville gallery being build in 1999, when I visited Brisbane with Narelle for the first time. It has become absoltely beautiful.
We had lunch at the Lebanese restaurant on Southbank. After that we went took the ferry to go back to Queen Street Mall and went to visit Roma Street gardens.
The end of our visit of the garden was interrupted by a strong shower. Walking back to the city centre we saw an incredilby intense rainbow.
After that we moved on to the Gold Coast.
