Cairns

There isn't much to say about Cairns. It's a good base to explore the north of Queensland, but the city itself isn't much to speak off, it's a bit like a tiny version of the Gold Coast with more of a beachfront.

We stayed at Trinity Beach Resort for a week, which we wouldn't advise because it's a very noisy place: the whole place is tiled, and the doors don't really cut the noise, so people coming in and out echo and you hear everything from inside your room. Other than that, the rooms are convenient.

Over the week, we did four big excursions: we spent a day in Kuranda, a village in the rainforest, we visited Green Island, we drove down south to Paronella Park, and we took a day tour up north in the Daintree, for which we unfortunately have no pictures because we forgot to take the camera. Doh.
