Port Germein

Wow, that's a long jetty.

On the way back we stopped for lunch in Port Germein. It's a big village (or a small town?) with one pub. Nice place, with a fireplace, weird bikers, and the waiter feeding an orange snake that he'd found in the backyard, that was hurt, and needed attention.

Port Germein's claim to fame is its jetty. It's the world's longest wooden jetty, and it's a kilometer and a half long. We went to the end, and enjoyed the view of the beautiful clear blue water. Up to the last hundred metre of the jetty, the water is so shallow you can see the bottom.

The last few metres of the jetty have been destroyed in a storm some years ago. It's still pretty long though.

On the way back, we hear some weird, loud, honking noise. Suddenly we see fins in the water. It's two dolphins, crossing the jetty!

And on the road again, back to Adelaide where we're expected by Sophie's family for diner.
