Narelle slipped down some very dangerous stairs in the U-Bahn and took a ride in an ambulance. Total damage: a black eye and 7 stitches above the left eyebrow, and a few rather rainbow-like bruises. Ambulance bill: 499 euros. Luckily the French medical cover pays, not us.

Recovering nicely, 3 days later. On a second trip to the hospital, my head bandage was unwrapped and replaced with this much less frightening little plaster.
