Spring in the garden
Tournefeuille, France 2009
Spring is in the air! I planted about 300 bulbs around the plum tree in October 2008. There are crocus, tulips and daffodils. Follow their progress here.

There are new daffodils out today and more tulips! Also, the plum tree is starting to bloom lovely white flowers like the tree opposite our house. We've had nearly two whole weeks of 18-22c and perfectly sunny weather. Heaven!
On March 17th I put in a new garden bed to the right of the bulb bed. You can really only see the bark mulch right now, but I planted around 60 seedlings that I started from a packet of seeds called 'flowers for butterflies' (includes: lupin, moonflower, cosmos, lavender, English marigold, tobacco flower) and four violas — two dark pink, two dark red.

The crocus put on their last show yesterday, marking just over a month of displaying their beautiful pastel colours. Today I deadheaded most of the crocus and now the focus is on the tulips and daffodils, which have been blooming for about half a week now.
