Hello, World!
These pages log the travel adventures of an Aussie (Narelle) and a Frenchman (Yves) who met on the Internet in 1996. Our story begins in Scotland in the year 2000 where we spent five years braving the rain before moving to the sunny south of France (Toulouse), where we are still based.
May 2013: Cruise!
Yves is booked on the same cruise Narelle did in 2012 with her mum. Narelle can't go as she has accepted a job in Paris. Read about the trip on our trip planning page.
January 2013: Winter in Toulouse
January 9th: Narelle becomes French
From Narelle: I officially became French on the 9th January.
December 2012 — April 2013: Snowshoe hiking at Plateau de Beille
We've been snowshoe hiking quite regularly at Plateau de Beille. It's only 90 minutes' drive from Toulouse and this year's snow season has been incredible, with loads and loads of snow! (And another snowshoe hike)
2012
December 2012: Xmas day, snowshoe hiking at Plateau de Beille
September, October 2012: Loire Valley
At the end of September, our friend and very first member of English in Toulouse, Jennifer, got married in the Loire Valley. We went up for the wedding and then spent a week visiting chateaux, wine tasting, touring Cointreau and some very fine dining (especially in Amboise!).We visited: Chateau d'Usse, Chateau d'Amboise, Chateau Azay-le-Rideau, Chateau Chennonceau, Chateau Chambord and the absolutely incredible gardens of Chateau Villandry.
