Cocktails
Champagne soup
- Ingredients
- 3 ladles of ice cubes
- 1 bottle of Champagne
- 1 ladle of Cointreau
- 1 ladle of lemon juice
- ½ ladle of sugar syrup
- Method
- Mix the cointreau, lemon juice and sugar in a salad bowl.
- Pour in the Champagne and add the ice.
- Mix well and serve right away with a ladle!
Cosmopolitan
- Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz Cointreau
- 1/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- lime juice and sugar for garnish
- Method
- Shake all the ingredients with ice in a shaker.
- Dip rim of glass in lime juice then sugar.
- Strain drink into glass.
Frozen Mango Daiquiri
- Ingredients (serves 2)
- 3 ounces rum
- 1 1/2 cups frozen mangoes, cubed
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 2 cups ice cubes
- Method
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and serve.
Kir Royale
- INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 oz creme de cassis
- 2 1/4 oz dry white wine
- Method
- Pour the creme de cassis into a wine glass.
- Slowly add the dry white wine.
- Variations
- Kir Imperial: Substitute raspberry liqueur for the creme de cassis and Champagne for the wine
- Kir Royale: Substitute Champagne for the white wine, serve in a Champagne flute.
Mojito
- Ingredients
- 2 tsp sugar
- 6-8 mint leaves
- club soda
- 1 lime, halved
- 2 oz light rum
- mint sprig for garnish
- Method
- Place the sugar, the mint leaves, and a little club soda into a highball glass.
- Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and to release the mint flavor.
- Squeeze the juice from both halves of the lime into the glass.
- Drop one half of the lime into the glass.
- Add the rum.
- Stir.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
- Add the rest of the club soda.
- Garnish with the mint sprig.
Pina Colada
- Ingredients
- 2 oz light rum
- 1/2 cup pineapple cubes or 2 oz pineapple juice
- 1 1/2 oz coconut cream
- maraschino cherry for garnish
- pineapple wedge for garnish
- Method
- Blend all ingredients with approximately 2 cups of ice.
- Strain into a hurricane glass.
- Garnish with the cherry and pineapple.
Mocktails
Cosmok
Narelle and Yves' mock Cosmopolitan
- Ingredients
- 6 shots Cranberry juice
- 1/2 shot lime juice
- 1 shot orange syrup
- glass frosted in lime juice and sugar
- Method
- Dip rim of glass in lime juice and then in sugar
- Combine all ingredients in a glass over ice, stir.
Coca Colada
A non-alcoholic version of the Frozen Piña Colada
- Ingredients
- 4 oz pineapple juice
- 2 oz coconut cream (or 6 oz piña colada mix)
- 1 cup ice
- orange slice for garnish
- Method
- In a blender, add 1 cup ice, pineapple juice and cream of coconut (or piña colada mix).
- Blend until slushy.
- Pour into an chilled hurricane glass.
- Garnish with an orange slice.
Orange Julius
- Ingredients
- 6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 8-9 ice cubes
- Method
- Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in blender.
- Blend for about 1-2 minutes, adding ice cubes one at a time.
Mojito Mocktail
- Ingredients
- Perrier
- fresh mint leaves
- sugar
- Angostura bitters
- lime juice
- ice
- Method
- In your glass, add mint leaves, sugar, bitters and lime juice.
- Muddle with a pestle.
- Fill glass up with ice and add Perrier to the top.
Virgin Mary
- Ingredients
- 3 oz tomato juice
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce
- celery salt
- ground pepper
- hot pepper or Tabasco sauce
- celery stalk for garnish
- Method
- Build the liquid ingredients into a highball glass over ice cubes.
- Mix well.
- Add the seasonings to taste.
- Garnish with the celery stalk.
Orangatang
- Ingredients
- 1 part orange juice
- 1 part cranberry juice
- ice
- Method
- Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake and serve.
