Weeping Tiger
This is inspired by a dish from the Thai restaurant we frequent in Edinburgh [Jirada] called "Weeping Tiger", which mostly involves grilled strips of beef with some spicy sauce.
- Ingredients (for 2):
- 250g of beef,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- 1 piece of ginger (4mm?),
- 3 stalks green pepper,
- Soy sauce,
- 3 chillis,
- Stir-fry veggies (Suggest 1 carrot, 1 broccoli)
- Rice
- Method:
- Mix the chopped garlic, ginger, chilli seeds and green pepper with soy sauce.
- Cut the beef into strips; marinade in the mixture prepared before.
- Now is a good time to start the rice (adding some coconut cream is a good idea).
- Chop all the vegetables finely enough, pan-fry in a little oil.
- When vegetables are ready, set aside, pan-fry meat quickly (pan should be really hot, and the frying should not go longer than a minute).
- Don't forget the golden rule of using a wok: the oil should be smoking slightly before using it, otherwise it's too cold!
