Caledonian Beer Festival, June, 2003
In June, when summer makes it's annual 3 day appearance and the days last so long they get confused with the night, the Caledonian Brewery on Slateford Road (5 minutes walk from our flat) holds a beer festival.
Sipping one of the many different beers, in the afternoon sunshine, with live bands in the background and lots of happy people with funny accents you could almost forget what continent you're on.
We've been to this event every year and usually scoop up some free pint glasses in the bargain. The entry fee usually includes a pint glass, 2 half pint vouchers and a programme and you get to keep your pint glass as a souvenier. You have to remember to hold onto the glass for the whole festival though, because you use the same one over and over. Lots of people get so drunk that they leave without their glasses so, as you can guess, we have countless sets in our collection now!
