Edinburgh Farmers' Market

Written by Narelle

On the first and third Saturday of every month, we go grocery shopping at the Edinburgh Farmers' Market which has really nice locally farmed produce (they even sell locally grown Ostrich meat!)

Pictured are some of the stalls we frequent, including Fletchers of Auchtermuchty (Venison) and the Black Isle Brewery. We also shop at the following stalls: Creelers for fresh seafood, Tiptoe Heritage Potatoes and Mrs Hamilton's Lamb.

The markets are on from 8am to 2pm (though most things are sold out by 12noon) and held on Castle Terrace which runs parallel to Lothian Road. Edinburgh Castle provides a great backdrop to the markets and Princes Street Gardens are a 2 minute walk away, which is a great spot to sit in the garden cafe with a Costa coffee expresso and look at what you bought before walking home.
