Also called the "Outer Hebrides", these Scottish Isles preserve a completely different lifestyle that seems more in touch with last century than anywhere else I've ever experienced. We went for a long weekend break to the Isle of Barra from the 24th-28th July 2002, and for a 2 week self-catering holiday to the Isle of Lewis/Harris in September, 2002.
